If you are willing to put the time into it, you could pick a few of your favorite colors and make it retro looking, either with the hollow square type stencils that you could probably find at a craft store, or you could just put stripes up onto your walls. If you wanted, and if your parents will allow it, you could just paint your current furniture white. It may not be as much of a change as your looking for, but it will definitely be more cost effective…

I would paint one feature wall in one of your listed colours or do them all on the one wall with the stripes, dots etc, just mix it up. I know, do horizontal stripes in alternate colours about 2 - 3 feet up the wall and then do a white background with the same colour dots randomly around.

Do your other 3 walls in just plain white, it will give it a real nice crisp feel, especially if you get all new white furniture. Just remember to take into consideration what your carpet colour is before you go ahead and do anything as you did not mention what your flooring is like.
